AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CASWELL COUNTY TO REGULATE THE OPERATION OF COMMERCIAL ESTABLISHMENTS WITHIN ONE-QUARTER MILE OF A CHURCH DURING CHURCH SERVICES ON SUNDAY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The Board of County Commissioners of Caswell County is hereby authorized, in its discretion, whenever the same deems desirable, to adopt a resolution or resolutions prohibiting the operation of any commercial enterprise or the keeping open of any business establishment on Sunday within one-quarter mile of any designated church in Caswell County during the time or one hour before or one hour after religious services are being held in said church.

Sec. 2. Upon the adoption of any such resolution, it shall be a misdemeanor to transact business or to keep open a business establishment contrary to the provisions of the resolution.

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect on and after its ratification.
