AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE HALIFAX COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION TO CONVEY CERTAIN PROPERTY TO THE HALIFAX COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The Halifax County Board of Education is authorized, in its discretion, to convey for a nominal consideration to the Halifax County Board of Commissioners the following described lands:

"BEGINNING at an iron stake at the southeast corner of the lot of Town of Halifax, and being Lot Number 1 according to map hereinafter referred to, thence along Main Street of Town of Halifax South 19 degrees 35 minutes West 213 feet to the property line of Herman Allen (formerly Mrs. Jennings), cornering; thence along said Allen line North 69 degrees 45 minutes West 286 feet to an iron stake on the westerly side of U. S. Highway 301, cornering; thence along the property line of W. E. Bellamy North 16 degrees 50 minutes East 232 feet to an iron stake, cornering; thence along the property line of the Town of Halifax South 65 degrees 50 minutes East 299 feet to an iron stake the point of beginning, and being Lots Numbered 2, 3, and 4 according to the plat showing the subdivision of "School House Lot" as surveyed and platted by C. F. Gore, Registered Engineer, under the date of May 1st, 1928; which said plat is of record in Map Book 3, at page 83, Halifax County Public Registry, and to which reference is made for greater certainty of description.

"Subject, however, to any existing easements or rights of way of the North Carolina State Highway Commission for U. S. Highway 301."

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
