HOUSE BILL 265

 

 

AN ACT RELATING TO THE COMPENSATION OF CERTAIN OFFICIALS, JURORS AND WITNESSES IN CHEROKEE COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The Clerk of the Superior Court of Cherokee County shall be paid an annual salary of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) per year, in equal monthly installments, out of the general fund of the county. The Deputy Clerk of the Superior Court of Cherokee County shall be paid an annual salary of twenty-four hundred dollars ($2,400.00) per year, in equal monthly installments, out of the general fund of the County.

Sec. 2. The Register of Deeds of Cherokee County shall be paid an annual salary of four thousand dollars ($4,000.00) per year, in equal monthly installments, out of the general fund of the County. The Clerk in the office of the Register of Deeds of Cherokee County shall be paid an annual salary of twenty-four hundred dollars ($2,400.00) per year, in equal monthly installments, out of the general fund of the County.

Sec. 3. The salaries provided for in Sections 1 and 2 of this Act are to be paid effective as of April 1, 1961.

Sec. 4. Jurors in the Superior Court of Cherokee County shall be paid seven dollars ($7.00) per day for each day required to be in attendance.

Sec. 5. Witnesses in the Superior Court of Cherokee County shall be paid three dollars ($3.00) each per day for each day required to be in attendance.

Sec. 6. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 7. This Act shall become effective upon its ratification.
