HOUSE BILL 218

AN ACT TO FIX THE COMPENSATION OF THE JURORS IN HALIFAX COUNTY.

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1. All jurors of the Superior Court of Halifax County shall receive as compensation for their services the sum of eight dollars ($8.00) per day and mileage at the rate of seven cents (7¢) per mile while coming to the county seat and returning home, the distance to be computed by the usual route of public travel. This travel allowance shall be paid on the basis of one round trip per calendar week for each calendar week in which attendance is required.

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
