AN ACT TO ENABLE MUNICIPALITIES TO COLLECT DOMESTIC AND COMMERCIAL REFUSE AND STREET RUBBISH IN TRAILERS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  Subsection (e) of Section 20-116 of the General Statutes of North Carolina is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the following:

"Provided further, that the said limitation that no combination of vehicles coupled together shall consist of more than two units shall not apply to trailers not exceeding three (3) in number drawn by a motor vehicle used by municipalities for the removal of domestic and commercial refuse and street rubbish, but such combination of vehicles shall not exceed a total length of fifty (50) feet inclusive of front and rear bumpers."

Sec. 2.  Subsection (a) of Section 20-123 of the General Statutes of North Carolina is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the following:

"Provided that this provision shall not apply to trailers not exceeding three (3) in number drawn by a motor vehicle used by municipalities for the removal of domestic and commercial refuse and street rubbish, but such combination of vehicles shall not exceed a total length of fifty (50) feet inclusive of front and rear bumpers."

Sec. 3.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4.  This Act shall become effective from and after its ratification.
