AN ACT RELATING TO THE ADMISSION OF PERSONS TO STATE HOSPITALS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 122-3, as the same appears in the 1961 Cumulative Supplement to the General Statutes, is amended by striking out the first paragraph thereof.

Sec. 2.  G.S. 122-36, as the same appears in the 1961 Cumulative Supplement to the General Statutes, is amended by striking out, in lines 5 and 6 of said Section, the words: "principles of division of race and residence prescribed in this Chapter", and by inserting the following in lieu thereof: "rules and regulations established by the board governing the admission of persons to any State hospital or institution. In establishing such rules and regulations, the board shall give due consideration to the care, treatment and welfare of the person to be admitted to a State hospital, as well as to the care, treatment and welfare of other persons admitted to said hospital."

Sec. 3.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4.  This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
