AN ACT TO AMEND G.S. 114-4.2 AND G.S. 114-4.3 RELATING TO THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  (a) G.S. 114-4.2 is hereby amended by striking out the words "an assistant attorney general" in line two and inserting in lieu thereof the words "three assistant attorneys general", and by striking out the word "attorney" in lines five and ten and inserting in both places in lieu thereof the word "attorneys".

(b)        G.S. 114-4.3 is hereby amended by striking out the words "an assistant attorney general" in line two and inserting in lieu thereof the words "two assistant attorneys general".

(c)        It is not the intent and purpose of this Act to add more personnel to the attorney general's staff but rather to authorize three existing positions to have the status of assistant attorney general.

Sec. 2.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3.  This Act shall become effective upon its ratification.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified, this the 5th day of May, 1965.
