AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 876 OF THE SESSION LAWS OF 1965 RELATING TO THE INCORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF KING.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Section 1 of Chapter 876 of the Session Laws of 1965 is hereby amended by striking out of the first and second lines of subsection (a) thereof the words and figures "shall conduct a special election not later than April 1, 1967" and by inserting in lieu thereof the following words "may at any time call and conduct a special election".

Sec. 2. Section 4.1 of Article IV of the proposed Charter of the Town of King, as enacted by Section 5 of Chapter 876 of the Session Laws of 1965, is hereby amended by striking out of the third line thereof the punctuation and words ", beginning in 1967".

Sec. 3. Chapter 876 of the Session Laws of 1965, as amended by Sections 1 and 2 of this Act, is hereby reenacted.

Sec. 4. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 5. This Act shall be effective upon its ratification.
