AN ACT TO FIX THE SALARIES OF THE CHIEF DEPUTY AND DEPUTY SHERIFFS OF HENDERSON COUNTY, AND TO AUTHORIZE THE APPOINTMENT OF ADDITIONAL DEPUTY SHERIFFS, AND THE PURCHASE OF A PATROL CAR FOR THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The Sheriff of Henderson County is hereby authorized to designate a Chief Deputy Sheriff, and the salary of the Chief Deputy shall be five hundred dollars ($500.00) per month.

Sec. 2. The Sheriff of Henderson County, in his discretion, is hereby authorized to appoint five deputy sheriffs in addition to the number of deputies now authorized by law, and the salaries of all deputy sheriffs in Henderson County shall be four hundred dollars ($400.00) per month.

Sec. 3. The Sheriff of Henderson County is hereby authorized to purchase one additional patrol car to be used by the Sheriff's Department in the performance of its official duties.

Sec. 4. The Board of County Commissioners of Henderson County is hereby authorized and directed to appropriate from the general fund of the county sufficient funds to pay the salaries of the Chief Deputy, the deputy sheriffs and for the purchase of the additional patrol car herein authorized.

Sec. 5. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 6. This Act shall be in full force and effect on and after July 1, 1967.
