AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 99, PRIVATE LAWS OF 1911, THE SAME BEING THE CHARTER OF THE TOWN OF LUMBER BRIDGE, SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR BIENNIAL ELECTIONS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Section 6 of Chapter 99, Private Laws of 1911, is hereby, rewritten to read as follows:

"Sec. 6. The municipal election for the Town of Lumber Bridge shall be held on the first Monday in May of 1967, and biennially thereafter, and the mayor and members of the governing body of the Town of Lumber Bridge elected in 1967, and biennially thereafter, shall serve for a term of two years and until their successors are elected and qualified. The municipal elections shall be held under the same laws, rules and regulations as provided for municipal elections in Article 3, Chapter 160, of the General Statutes, except as otherwise provided in the Charter."

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
