HOUSE BILL 728

AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE FILLING OF VACANCIES ON THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DARE COUNTY.

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1. G. S. 153-6, as the same appears in the 1965 Supplement to the 1964 Replacement Volume 3C of the General Statutes, is hereby amended by inserting the word "Dare" immediately after the word "Columbus" in line 6 thereof.

Sec. 2. The Board of County Commissioners of Dare County, before filling any vacancy in said Board, shall seek the recommendation of the County Executive Committee of the party whose member caused the vacancy on the Board but the recommendation of the County Executive Committee shall not be binding upon the Board of Commissioners in filling a vacancy.

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
