AN ACT RELATING TO THE SALE BY THE WILKES COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION OF CERTAIN SCHOOL PROPERTY KNOWN AS THE CLINGMAN SCHOOL PROPERTY IN THE CLINGMAN COMMUNITY IN WILKES COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. All proceedings now pending with respect to the sale, pursuant to G. S. 115-126 or any other applicable laws, by the Wilkes County Board of Education of surplus school property owned by it and known as the Clingman school property located in the Clingman community of Wilkes County are hereby terminated. The Wilkes County Board of Education is hereby authorized, in its discretion, to sell and convey the above described property at private sale at such price, and upon such terms, as it may deem wise and expedient, to any organization of the Clingman community in Wilkes County which may desire to purchase said property for the purpose of operating a community center or community center building for the use of the residents of the community.

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall become effective upon its ratification.
