SENATE BILL 38

 

 

AN ACT RELATING TO THE COMPENSATION OF THE REGISTER OF DEEDS OF CABARRUS COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The salary of the Register of Deeds of Cabarrus County is hereby fixed at eight thousand five hundred dollars ($8,500.00) per year, payable in equal monthly installments out of the general fund of the County, for the performance of duties as Register of Deeds.

Sec. 2. The Board of County Commissioners of Cabarrus County is hereby authorized, in its discretion, to increase or decrease the fees and commissions, as now provided by law, which may be charged by the Register of Deeds of Cabarrus County, said increase or decrease not to exceed twenty per cent (20%)            in any one fiscal year of the County. Action to increase or decrease such fees and commissions shall be taken by resolution of the Board of County Commissioners.

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect on and after July 1, 1967.
