AN ACT TO ALLOW PERMITS FOR THE OPERATION OF CERTAIN FARM EQUIPMENT ON THE HIGHWAYS TO BE ISSUED ON AN ANNUAL BASIS AND TO EXTEND THE DISTANCE OVER WHICH SUCH EQUIPMENT MAY BE OPERATED WITHOUT THE USE OF FLAGMEN FROM FOUR TO TEN MILES.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  Subsection (j) of G.S. 20-116, as the same appears in the 1965 Replacement Volume 1C of the General Statutes, is amended by deleting the words "a seasonal basis" appearing in line 8 and inserting in lieu thereof the words "an annual basis and shall expire on January 1 of the year next following the year of issuance."

Sec. 2.  Section (2) of subsection (j) of G.S. 20-116, as the same appears in the 1965 Replacement Volume 1C of the General Statutes, is amended by deleting the word "four" appearing in line 7 and inserting in lieu thereof the word "ten".

Sec. 3.  Section (3) of subsection (j) of G.S. 20-116, as the same appears in the 1965 Replacement Volume 1C of the General Statutes, is amended by deleting the word "four" appearing in lines 3 and 11 and inserting in lieu thereof the word "ten" and by deleting the word "Saturdays" appearing in line 11 thereof.

Sec. 4.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 5.  This Act shall be in full force and effect on and after January 1, 1968.
