AN ACT TO AMEND G.S. 44A-2 TO RESOLVE AN INCONSISTENCY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 44A-2(a), as amended by Chapter 403 of the 1971 Session Laws, is hereby amended by inserting the words "other than a motor vehicle" following the word "property" where it first appears in the first sentence of subsection (a) so that the first sentence thereof shall read as follows:

"Any person who tows, alters, repairs, stores, services, treats, or improves personal property other than a motor vehicle in the ordinary course of his business pursuant to an express or implied contract with an owner or legal possessor of the personal property has a lien upon the property."

Sec. 2.  This act shall become effective upon ratification.
