HOUSE BILL 724

 

AN ACT TO GIVE THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF NEW HANOVER COUNTY THE POWER TO APPOINT PERSONS TO FILL JOB VACANCIES WITHIN THE COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  Notwithstanding the provisions of Chapter 578 of the Public-Local Laws of 1939, the Board of Commissioners of New Hanover County is hereby vested with the right and duty to use its absolute discretion in the appointment of persons to fill vacant positions of employment with the county when the public interest so requires.

Sec. 2.  This act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
