AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF ONSLOW COUNTY TO FIX THE COMPENSATION OF THE MEMBERS AND THE CHAIRMAN OF THE ONSLOW COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

Section 1. Chapter 763 of the 1965 Session Laws is repealed.

Sec. 2. The Board of County Commissioners of Onslow County is hereby authorized to fix the compensation of the chairman of the Onslow County Board of Education in an amount not to exceed one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) per month and to fix the compensation of the members of the Onslow County Board of Education in an amount not to exceed one hundred fifteen dollars ($115.00) per month.

Sec. 3. In addition to the compensation otherwise provided in this act, the chairman and each member of the Board of Education shall receive a travel allowance of ten cents per mile for travel necessarily incurred in the performance of all official duties.

Sec. 4. This act shall, upon ratification, become effective retroactively to July 1, 1972.
