HOUSE BILL 243

AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR ONE MEMBER OF THE GENERAL STATUTES COMMISSION TO BE APPOINTED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE NORTH CAROLINA BAR ASSOCIATION.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

Section 1.  G.S. 164-14(a) is hereby amended on line 2 by deleting the figure "10" and inserting in lieu thereof the figure "11"; and is further amended by adding a new subdivision (10) to read as follows:

"(10)    One member by the President of the North Carolina Bar Association."

Sec. 2.  G.S. 164-14(c) is hereby amended on line 7 after the word "Senate", by inserting the words "President of the North Carolina Bar Association".

Sec. 3.  This act shall become effective upon ratification.
