AN ACT TO GIVE MAGISTRATES OF EDGECOMBE AND NASH COUNTIES CONCURRENT AUTHORITY TO RECEIVE AND ACT UPON INVOLUNTARY COMMITMENT PETITIONS FILED IN EITHER COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1. Any magistrate of Edgecombe County has the same authority to receive and act upon petitions filed under Article 5A (Involuntary Commitment) of General Statutes Chapter 122, as any magistrate of Nash County. Any magistrate of Nash County has the same authority to receive and act upon petitions filed under Article 5A (Involuntary Commitment) of General Statutes Chapter 122, as any magistrate of Edgecombe County.

Sec. 2. This act shall become effective on July 1, 1975.
