SENATE BILL 204

 

AN ACT TO PERMIT PERSONS TO ENGAGE IN BUSINESS AS A PAWNBROKER IN UNINCORPORATED AREAS OF JACKSON AND LENOIR COUNTIES.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  Section 4 of Chapter 1155, Session Laws of 1957, as amended by Chapter 768, Session Laws of 1967, is further amended by adding the following new sentence at the end:

"Sections 1 and 2 of this act also apply to Jackson and Lenoir Counties."

Sec. 2.  G.S. 91-4 is amended in the second sentence of the last paragraph by deleting "and the chief of police" and inserting in lieu thereof "and, if the pawnshop is located in an incorporated city or town, in the office of the chief of police".

Sec. 3.  This act applies to Jackson and Lenoir Counties only.

Sec. 4.  This act is effective upon ratification.
