GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF NORTH CAROLINA

CHAPTER 251
AN ACT TO MAKE FIRST AND SECOND DEGREE SEX OFFENSES NONDIVERTIBLE OFFENSES FOR JUVENILE COMPLAINTS.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
Section 1. G.S. 7A-531 is amended by deleting the word "rape" from the third paragraph and replacing it with the following: "first or second degree rape; first or second degree sexual offense".
Sec. 2. This act shall become effective October 1, 1983, and applies to offenses committed on and after that date.
