HOUSE BILL 144

 

AN ACT TO REMOVE MENTAL RETARDATION FROM THE CONDITIONS PROHIBITING A PERSON FROM WORK IN A DAY-CARE CENTER.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 110-90.1 and G.S. 110-91(8) are amended by deleting the phrase "mentally retarded or mentally ill to an extent that may be injurious to children." and substituting "mentally or emotionally impaired to an extent that may be injurious to children."

Sec. 2.  This act shall become effective July 1, 1983.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified, this the 6th day of May, 1983.
