HOUSE BILL 101

 

AN ACT TO RAISE AGE LIMITS FOR DAY-CARE STAFF.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 110-91(8) is amended by deleting the second sentence and substituting the following:

"All staff counted in determining the required staff-child ratio shall be at least 18 years of age or a high school graduate. Persons less than 18 years of age, but at least 16 years of age, may work in day-care facilities provided they are under the direct supervision of a required staff member."

Sec. 3.  This act shall become effective October 1, 1983.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified, this the 11th day of March, 1983.
