SENATE BILL 796

 

AN ACT TO EXTEND THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS FOR CIVIL ACTIONS BROUGHT BY THE STATE TO ENFORCE THE LAWS AGAINST BID RIGGING ON GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 133-28(c) reads as rewritten:

"(c)      The cause of action shall accrue at the time of discovery of the conspiracy by the governmental agency which entered into the contract.  The action shall be brought within three six years of the date of accrual of the cause of action."

Sec. 2.  This act is effective upon ratification and applies to all claims not yet barred.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified this the 22nd day of July, 1993.
