HOUSE BILL 2003

 

AN ACT TO PROHIBIT THE TAKING OF DEER WITH DOGS IN DURHAM COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  It is unlawful to take deer with the aid of dogs, unless the hunter has in his possession written permission of the owner of the land to take deer with dogs, and provided that the land is located within the geographic area designated by the Wildlife Resources Commission as an area in which taking deer with dogs is permitted.

Sec. 2.  Violation of this act is a Class 3 misdemeanor.

Sec. 3.  This act is enforceable by law enforcement officers of the Wildlife Resources Commission, by sheriffs and deputy sheriffs, and by peace officers with general subject matter jurisdiction.

Sec. 4.  This act applies only to Durham County.

Sec. 5.  This act becomes effective October 1, 1994.
