HOUSE BILL 530

AN ACT to require any appointments by buncombe county to a metropolitan planning organization to provide for geographic representation of the county.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  In making appointments to any metropolitan planning organization established under Article 16 of Chapter 136 of the General Statutes, the Buncombe County Commissioners may not appoint more than one elected official from each commissioner district in Buncombe County. Being elected separately under Section 1 of S.L. 2011‑81, as amended by Section 4 of S.L. 2011‑407, the Chairman of the Buncombe County Commissioners shall not be treated as from any commissioner district.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective October 1, 2013, and applies to any appointments made on or after that date.
