AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 465 OF THE SESSION LAWS OF 1955 RELATING TO THE SALARIES OF CERTAIN OFFICIALS OF MECKLENBURG COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Section 1 of Chapter 465 of the Session Laws of 1955 is hereby rewritten to read as follows:

"Section 1. Section 1 of Chapter 1010 of the Session Laws of 1953 is hereby rewritten to read as follows:

'Section 1. Effective on July 1, 1959, the following named officials of Mecklenburg County shall receive the following salaries: The Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners, nine thousand dollars ($9,000.00) per annum; the Clerk of Superior Court, ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) per annum; the Register of Deeds, eight thousand dollars ($8,000.00) per annum; the Sheriff, eight thousand five hundred dollars ($8,500.00) per annum; and the Treasurer, seven thousand five hundred dollars ($7,500.00) per annum, each payable in twelve equal monthly installments."'

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after July 1, 1959.
