AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CHOWAN COUNTY TO REDUCE OR INCREASE SALARIES AND FEES NOT MORE THAN TWENTY PER CENT IN ANY FISCAL YEAR NOR MORE THAN TWENTY PER CENT IN ANY FISCAL YEAR AS COMPARED WITH THE PRECEDING FISCAL YEAR.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1. Section 1 of Chapter 39 of the Session Laws of 1959 is hereby amended by rewriting said Section 1 to read as follows:

"Section 1. The Board of County Commissioners of Chowan County is hereby authorized to fix and establish the salaries and fees of all officials of Chowan County, whether elected or appointed: Provided, that the salaries and fees fixed by said board of county commissioners shall not be reduced nor increased by said board of county commissioners more than twenty per cent (20%) in any fiscal year nor more than twenty per cent (20%) in any fiscal year as compared with the preceding year."

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect upon its ratification.
