AN ACT TO AMEND G. S. 14-107 SO AS TO PLACE THE CRIME OF GIVING A WORTHLESS CHECK OF NOT MORE THAN TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS WITHIN THE JURISDICTION OF JUSTICES OF THE PEACE IN CRAVEN COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1. G. S. 14-107 is hereby amended by adding a new paragraph at the end thereof to read as follows:

"In Craven County, if the amount due on any such check described above is not over twenty-five dollars ($25.00), the punishment shall not exceed a fine of fifty dollars ($50.00) or imprisonment for thirty (30) days."

Sec. 2. This Act shall apply only to Craven County.

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall become effective upon its ratification.
