HOUSE BILL 864

 

 

AN ACT TO FIX THE COMPENSATION FOR MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AND THE COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION OF MARTIN COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Chapter 936, Session Laws of 1961, is hereby amended by striking out all of Section 1 thereof and substituting therefor the following:

"Section 1. The Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners of Martin County shall receive a salary of one hundred dollars ($100.00) per month, and all other members of the board of commissioners shall receive a salary of eighty dollars ($80.00) per month. The chairman and members of the board of commissioners shall receive a travel allowance at the rate of seven cents (7¢) per mile for all necessary travel in the performance of their official duties."

Sec. 2. Chapter 936, Session Laws of 1961, is amended by striking out Section 2 thereof, and substituting therefor the following:

"Sec. 2. The members of the Board of Education of Martin County shall receive the sum of fifty dollars ($50.00) per month, plus a travel allowance at the rate of seven cents (7¢) per mile for all necessary travel in the performance of their official duties."

Sec. 3. Section 2 of Chapter 433, Session Laws of 1955, and all other laws and clauses of laws in conflict with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after July 1, 1963.
