AN ACT AMENDING CHAPTER 122 OF THE SESSION LAWS OF 1963 RELATING TO THE PLANNING AND ZONING POWERS OF THE TOWN OF CARRBORO.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Chapter 122 of the Session Laws of 1963 is hereby amended by adding thereto a new Section to be known as Section 8-A as follows:

"Sec. 8-A. The governing body of the Town of Carrboro is hereby further authorized to exercise the powers granted by Chapter 122 of the Session Laws of 1963 in that area adjacent to the area described in Section 8 of the said Act and more fully described as follows:

"Beginning in the center of N. C. Highway 54 where the center line of the said highway crosses Morgan's Creek and about 2.5 miles northwest of the Town of Carrboro and in line with the area described in Section 8 of Chapter 122 of the Session Laws of 1963 and running thence up Morgan's Creek about 280 feet to a point in the said creek 250 feet North of the right of way of the said highway; running thence in a western direction and parallel with the center line of the said highway and 250 feet North of the right of way of the said highway about 9/10ths of a mile to a point opposite the N. C. Camp Ground Assembly property; running thence in a southern direction crossing N. C. Highway 54 a total distance of 560 feet to a point; running thence in an eastern direction parallel with the center line of N. C. Highway 54 and 250 feet South of the right of way of the said highway about 9/10ths of a mile to the center of Morgan's Creek, running thence up the center of the said creek about 280 feet to the beginning."

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
