HOUSE BILL 232

 

 

AN ACT TO INCREASE THE CIVIL JURISDICTION OF THE LEAKSVILLE TOWNSHIP RECORDER'S COURT IN ROCKINGHAM COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The jurisdiction of the Leaksville Township Recorder's Court in Rockingham County in civil actions shall include the following:

(a)       Jurisdiction concurrent with that of the justices of the peace within the county;

(b)       Jurisdiction concurrent with the Superior Court in all actions founded on contract, wherein the amount involved exclusive of interest and costs does not exceed fifteen hundred dollars ($1500.00);

(c)       Jurisdiction concurrent with the Superior Court in actions not founded upon contract wherein the amount involved exclusive of interest and costs does not exceed the sum of fifteen hundred dollars ($1500.00).

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect upon its ratification.
