AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 495, SESSION LAWS OF 1947, RELATING TO COMPENSATION OF JURORS IN MITCHELL COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1. Chapter 495, Session Laws of 1947, is hereby amended by rewriting Section 5 thereof to read as follows:

"Sec. 5. The County Commissioners of Mitchell County are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to pay all regular jurors in the Superior Court the sum of seven dollars ($7.00) per day and a travel allowance of seven cents (7¢) per mile over the usual route of travel coming to the county seat and returning home for each day's service attending court or performing the duties for which they are summoned. All tales jurors shall receive only the sum of six dollars ($6.00) per day for each day's service."

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall become effective upon its ratification.
