HOUSE BILL 553

 

 

AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE KEEPING OF MICRO-FILMED RECORDS BY CLERKS OF SUPERIOR COURT.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 2-42 is hereby amended by inserting the words "or microfilm" between the word "books" and the semicolon in the title, and by striking the colon at the end of the third line of the Section and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

"; provided, however, where the board of county commissioners has consented to the microfilming of records, it shall not be necessary to keep books of the records that are so microfilmed, but the microfilm of the records shall be kept and shall be open to inspection of the public during regular office hours:".

Sec. 2.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3.  This Act shall become effective upon its ratification.
