HOUSE BILL 102

 

 

AN ACT TO EXTEND THE TERM OF OFFICE OF THE DISTRICT SCHOOL COMMITTEEMEN OF HAYWOOD COUNTY UNTIL JULY 1, 1965.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The terms of office of the present members of the various district school committees serving in the County Administrative Unit of Haywood County are hereby extended until July 1, 1965. This extension of the terms of office of the various district school committees of Haywood County Administrative Unit is likewise applicable to those members appointed to fill vacancies, if any, prior to July 1, 1965, and those members appointed to fill vacancies shall likewise hold office until July 1, 1965.

Sec. 2. On July 1, 1965, the Consolidated School System, as established by Chapter 126 of the Session Laws of 1963, shall appoint school committees for each of the several districts of the County Administrative Unit of Haywood County, and these school committeemen so appointed shall hold their offices until the first Monday in April, 1967. Thereafter the Consolidated School System of Haywood County shall appoint school committees for the terms of office and according to the provisions of Article 7 of Chapter 115 of the General Statutes.

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
