HOUSE BILL 1283

 

 

AN ACT TO PROVIDE REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AND THE PRESIDENT PRO TEMPORE OF THE SENATE FOR EXPENSES INCURRED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THEIR OFFICIAL DUTIES.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  There is hereby enacted a new Section which shall be designated "§ 120-4" and shall read as follows:

"§ 120-4.  Speaker and President Pro Tempore. For each day spent in the service of the State at times when the General Assembly is not in session, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President Pro Tempore of the Senate each shall be entitled to receive subsistence and travel allowances at the rates prescribed in § 138-5(b). The costs of clerical assistance, postage, and other office expenses incurred by the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President Pro Tempore of the Senate in the performance of their official duties when the General Assembly is not in session shall be a proper charge against the funds appropriated for the maintenance and operation of the Legislative Research Commission."

Sec. 2.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.

Sec. 3.  This Act shall become effective on July 1, 1967.
