AN ACT TO INCREASE THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE ROBESON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS TO SEVEN, AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE ELECTION OF THE ADDITIONAL MEMBER.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The membership of the Board of County Commissioners of Robeson County is hereby increased to seven and the additional member shall represent the Lumberton District. The additional member shall be nominated and elected at the 1968 primary and general election in the same manner and under the same laws, rules and regulations as now prescribed for the nomination and election of the other County Commissioners of Robeson County.

Sec. 2. At the 1968 general election for County officers, the additional commissioner for the Lumberton District shall be elected for a term of two years. In 1970, and quadrennially thereafter, the additional commissioner shall be elected for a term of four years.

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
