SENATE BILL 273

AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 466 OF THE SESSION LAWS OF 1959 RELATING TO SALARIES OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCILMEN OF THE CITY OF MONROE.

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1. Section I of Chapter 466 of the Session Laws of 1959 is hereby amended by rewriting subsection (3) thereof to read as follows:

"(3)      The salary of the Mayor shall be fixed by the City Council. The salary of each City Councilman shall be seventy-five dollars ($75.00) per month."

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be effective upon its ratification.
