HOUSE BILL 83

 

 

AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 1107, SESSION LAWS OF 1965, RELATING TO THE CREATION OF RECREATION DISTRICTS.

 

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The first sentence of Section 9, Chapter 1107, Session Laws of 1965, is amended by striking therefrom the words "six months" and inserting the words "three months" in lieu thereof.

Sec. 2. Section 14 of Chapter 1107, Session Laws of 1965, is amended by adding at the end thereof the following sentence:

"This Act shall be construed so as to permit the presentation of a petition and the holding of a special election called pursuant thereto on the issue of creating a recreation district and the levy of an annual tax as described in Section 2, subsection (a) and (c), above, without including in said petition any provision or request for the issuance of Recreational Facilities Bonds, and shall further be construed to permit the holding of an election without submitting any questions relating to the issuance of Recreational Facilities Bonds."

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
