AN ACT TO AMEND G.S. 153A-305 RELATING TO PROVISION OF SERVICES IN A NEWLY CREATED SERVICE DISTRICT.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 153A-305(a) is rewritten to read as follows:

"§ 153A-305. Required provision or maintenance of services. – (a)  New District. When a county defines a new service district, it shall provide, maintain, or let contracts for the services for which the residents of the district are being taxed within a reasonable time, not to exceed one year, after the effective date of the definition of the district or after the levying of taxes provided for in G.S. 153A-307, whichever last occurs."

Sec. 2. The provisions of this act shall apply only to Onslow County.

Sec. 3. This act shall become effective upon ratification.
