HOUSE BILL 878

 

AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT THE CITY OF DURHAM MAY CONTRACT WITH AND APPROPRIATE MONEY TO ANY PERSON, ASSOCIATION, OR CORPORATION FOR THE ACCOMPLISHMENT OF PUBLIC PURPOSES.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  Section 8 of the Charter of the City of Durham, being Chapter 671, Session Laws of 1975, is amended by adding the following new paragraph at the end:

"Pursuant to Article V, Section 2(7) of the Constitution of North Carolina, the City Council may contract with and appropriate money to any person, association, or corporation for the accomplishment of any public purpose."

Sec. 2.  This act is effective upon ratification.
