HOUSE BILL 1037

AN ACT MAKING THE COMMISSIONER OF INSURANCE AN EX OFFICIO MEMBER OF THE PUBLIC OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES LIABILITY INSURANCE COMMISSION.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

Section 1.  The second sentence of G.S. 143B-422 is amended by deleting the figure "10" and substituting "11".

Sec. 2.  G.S. 143B-422 is amended by adding a new sentence, immediately after the second sentence, to read:  "The Commissioner of Insurance or his designate shall be an ex officio member".

Sec. 3.  The fourth paragraph of G.S. 143B-424 is amended by deleting the words "any company", each time they appear, and substituting "any agency or company".

Sec. 4.  This act is effective upon ratification.
