SENATE BILL 532

 

AN ACT TO AMEND THE CATCH LINE OF THE LAW CONCERNING CUSTODY OF PERSONS INCAPABLE OF SELF-SUPPORT UPON REACHING MAJORITY TO CONFORM TO THE BODY OF THE LAW AS RECOMMENDED BY THE GENERAL STATUTES COMMISSION.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 50-13.8 reads as rewritten:

"§ 50-13.8. Support Custody of persons incapable of self-support upon reaching majority.

For the purposes of custody, the rights of a person who is mentally or physically incapable of self-support upon reaching his majority shall be the same as a minor child for so long as he remains mentally or physically incapable of self-support."

Sec. 2.  This act is effective upon ratification.
